This year's first typhoon may form.

According to real-time typhoon path information, the first typhoon "Butterfly" of 2025 is showing signs of forming. Currently, about half of the members of the EPS and GEFS are forecasting that the first "Butterfly" of the year will form at the end of April to early May, but there are significant differences among major forecasting agencies regarding the location of formation. Some believe it will form in the South China Sea, while others think it may form in the sea east of the Philippines. The subtropical high has not yet moved north, so the typhoon may turn north at a lower latitude after forming. It is likely that this typhoon will not affect us, but we will have to wait for further updates. Currently, Guangdong has officially entered the flood season, with heavy rainfall and potentially disastrous weather on the rise.
