On April 23, 2025, the National Commodity Coding Work Symposium was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Deng Zhiyong, member of the Party Group and deputy director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, also attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that in 2024, the work of commodity coding has achieved positive results in strengthening self-construction, supporting national strategies, meeting market demands, innovating scientific research standards, and deepening international cooperation. Especially in strengthening the empowerment of digital intelligence and serving market supervision, the unique advantages of commodity data have been fully utilized, helping to supervise product quality safety throughout the entire chain, promoting innovative smart market supervision, and serving the construction of a unified national large market. The work of commodity coding has also played an important role in supporting the implementation of policies such as "trading in old for new", supporting the digital transformation of China's tax system, serving the construction of smart customs, supporting the construction of national unified material catalogs, and assisting in the implementation of the "Healthy China" strategy.
The meeting required that in 2025, the work of commodity coding should fully meet the social demand for coding, strengthen precise support, enhance the ability to serve the construction of a unified national large market, and support the digital governance of society.
