Li Ke responds to Maserati acquisition rumors: BYD prioritizes developing its own brand at this stage.

During the Yangwang U9 Xtreme speed record celebration event in Abu Dhabi, BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke discussed the Maserati acquisition rumors in an interview with the media. Li Ke stated that in earlier years BYD had greater interest in classic luxury brands like Maserati, but the group has now charted its own development path, and the intention to acquire Maserati has faded. She said that with the successful launch of the Yangwang brand, market recognition of BYD's self-developed products has continued to rise, and building a luxury brand independently is a choice better suited to the future and better able to unlock technological value. Regarding competition from European automakers, she is not worried: "We don't want to compete specifically with any one rival. We want to develop our own technology, build the best cars possible, and achieve things others have not yet accomplished."
