Report: US Democratic senators plan to introduce a Ukraine aid bill, calling for replacing the US negotiating representative and controlling the Starlink and Starshield systems.
U.S. Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said on November 7 that he will introduce a bill supporting Ukraine, calling on Washington to appoint new negotiators to participate in peace talks and urging Congress to impose controls on the Starlink and Starshield systems in the public interest. In a post on X, he said: "President Trump needs new negotiators. Congress must take the lead and act immediately." The United States has dispatched special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to participate in trilateral Russia-Ukraine talks and bilateral meetings, many of which were held in Moscow. Blumenthal also called for more measures to aid Ukraine and punish Russia, pushing Putin to the negotiating table. "After the election, the momentum for supporting Ukraine is in our favor. We must act immediately, restore the sanctions that Trump waived, stop his terrible diesel deal, provide military assistance, especially air defense equipment, and other necessary measures to exert pressure and push Putin to seriously engage in peace negotiations."
