The World Food Programme warned on the 14th that the escalation of the conflict in Yemen has disrupted life-saving assistance for 800,000 people. Shifting front lines, blocked roads, and a deteriorating security situation have severely restricted humanitarian access to the city of Taiz and other conflict-affected areas. The World Food Programme noted that Taiz is Yemen's third-largest city, and since the outbreak of the crisis, its districts have hosted the largest number of internally displaced persons. Taiz is one of the areas with the most severe food security situation in Yemen, and the World Food Programme and its partners are currently unable to reach more than 600,000 people in Taiz who depend on humanitarian assistance, including more than 200,000 women and children.
