On the third day of the National Day holiday, Guangdong's cultural and tourism market delivered an impressive report card: according to preliminary estimates by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, on October 3 alone, scenic areas at the 4A level and above across the province received 4.044 million visitors; key areas along the 14 sections of ancient post roads under monitoring received 618,000 visitors; the 13 classic red tourism scenic areas under monitoring received 356,000 visitors; the 100 rural tourism sites and ancient historical villages under monitoring received 428,000 visitors; and the 100 key public cultural institutions under monitoring received 498,000 residents and tourists.
