People familiar with the matter said Bain Capital is bidding to acquire a data center company owned by Koch. The move marks the biggest step yet for the firm, which had been sitting on the sidelines amid the U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure boom. According to people familiar with the matter, Bain Capital has held talks to acquire Edged. Edged, co-founded by Koch and entrepreneur Jacob Carnemark, is dedicated to the development, construction, and operation of data centers. Media previously reported that Koch's subsidiary Koch Real Estate Investments has been soliciting acquisition bids for Edged, and the deal could value Edged at more than $15 billion.
