Energy price surge "second wave" looms! ECB's Lane warns: eurozone inflation will be higher and more persistent.
Zhito Finance APP has learned that European Central Bank Chief Economist Philip Lane stated that a new round of high energy prices means that eurozone inflation will remain elevated for longer than the ECB initially expected. "We are seeing a second round of price increases, not only in oil but also in natural gas," he said in an interview on Tuesday. "We believe that this round of energy price increases will make inflation higher and more persistent, before it falls back toward our target starting from mid-2027."
