China's pilot program for product carbon footprint labeling and certification has achieved positive results.

Establishing a product carbon labeling certification system is a major reform task deployed by the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Outline of the National "15th Five-Year Plan," and it is also a key support for promoting the green and low-carbon development of China's industries and achieving the "dual carbon" goals. The State Administration for Market Regulation has thoroughly implemented the reform deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, steadily advanced the national pilot work on product carbon footprint labeling certification, and accelerated the building of a unified, standardized, coordinated, and efficient product carbon footprint labeling certification system. On the occasion of the 2026 China Carbon Market Conference, the State Administration for Market Regulation has summarized the practical experience of the pilot program and released the results of the pilot work.
