OpenAI President Greg Brockman responded on Monday, downplaying market concerns about the departure of executives from the artificial intelligence company, stating that this wave of resignations is "actually not very unusual." Brockman indicated, "I actually think the difference between OpenAI and other institutions is that we are under an extremely bright spotlight, and every departure is scrutinized much more closely, while ordinary companies do not face such treatment." Just last week, OpenAI's revenue head, Dennis Dresser, suddenly left after just 8 months in the position. Her core responsibility had been to expand the enterprise business segment, which has a high profit margin and aims to directly compete with major rival Anthropic. Two days before Dresser's departure, another senior executive, Brad Lightcap, announced he would end his eight-year tenure at the ChatGPT developer to "embark on new ventures." In April of this year, OpenAI announced that Lightcap would no longer serve as Chief Operating Officer and would transition to take charge of "special projects," with Dresser taking over most of his responsibilities.
