The first group of five engineering technicians has already arrived, bringing the total number of Russian experts at the plant to 25. A second group of experts, numbering in the dozens, will be dispatched within the next two weeks. Likhachev expects that if everything goes smoothly, the number of Russian experts working at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant could reach 100 this autumn. He also emphasized, The prerequisite for all of this is that the U.S. and Iran can reach a final agreement to stop military confrontations and that conflicts do not escalate further. The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is located outside the city of Bushehr in southern Iran and is the only operational nuclear power plant in the country, built along the coast of the Persian Gulf.
