Ningbo Airport is about to suspend operations, and the flight cancellation rate in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region is high due to the impact of Typhoon "Baihaitun."
Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 13 "Bai Hai Dun," Ningbo Airport plans to suspend flight operations starting from 23:30 on August 8 and will continue to suspend flights throughout the day on August 9. The timeline for resuming operations will be announced separately based on the dynamics and impact of the typhoon. According to Jiemian News, flights affected by the typhoon are concentrated around Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. Currently, airlines including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Spring Airlines, and Juneyao Airlines have announced free of charge cancellation and change notifications for tickets purchased before August 7. Passengers are advised to check the relevant airline apps for updates and may choose to cancel or change to nearby flights. The Central Meteorological Administration issued a typhoon orange alert at 06:00 on August 8, predicting that "Bai Hai Dun" will move west-northwest at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour and is expected to make landfall along the coastal area from Zhoushan, Zhejiang to Fuding, Fujian, during the night of August 9 to the morning of August 10.
