In July, the deadweight tonnage of cargo ships leaving major ports in China increased by 56.4% year-on-year.
Since the beginning of this year, the country has continuously promoted "stabilizing scale and optimizing structure" in foreign trade, with significant results. The resilience of foreign trade has been steadily increasing, further highlighting the advantages of our complete industrial system and diversified market layout. Ports serve as a barometer for foreign trade. In July, the cargo ship departures from major ports in our country saw a year-on-year increase of 56.4% in deadweight tonnage, with the growth rate significantly up by 38.9 percentage points compared to June. Notably, the deadweight tonnage of roll-on/roll-off cargo ships increased by 87.1%, reflecting the sustained rapid growth of automobile exports. Imports showed a steady increase. In July, the arrival of liquefied petroleum gas ships and liquid cargo ships grew by 37.8% and 11.7% respectively, indicating an expansion in energy and chemical raw material imports, which shows that domestic production enterprises have stable production expectations and positive confidence.
