The Yunnan Xuanwei Torch Festival caused a fire, leaving 16 people injured.

On the 8th, the Information Office of the People's Government of Xuanwei City, Yunnan Province, announced that during the Torch Festival in the Wusa village group of the Jianwen Village Committee in Lefeng Township, a crowd was accidentally ignited while using flammable liquid to light the torches. A plastic barrel containing flammable liquid accidentally tipped over, leading to a fire that resulted in varying degrees of burns to 16 individuals on the scene. Following the incident, Xuanwei City immediately activated its emergency response plan, organizing personnel from health, emergency, and public security departments, as well as staff from Lefeng Township, to rush to the scene to carry out rescue efforts for the injured and maintain order. Currently, the injured are receiving treatment in the hospital, and their conditions are stable, with follow-up work underway.
