Reporters learned from the news conference on the interpretation of the capital's economic situation in the first half of the year held today that, according to the plan at the beginning of the year, the central urban area of Beijing planned to create an additional 20,000 parking spaces. By the end of the first half of the year, approximately 20,100 parking spaces have already been completed, achieving the annual target ahead of schedule. It was introduced that in the first half of the year, the Beijing Development and Reform Commission also supported five public multi-storey parking facility projects including Baohua Garden in Dongcheng District and Anhe Garden in Tianxiu Road, Haidian District relying on fixed asset investment from the Beijing municipal government. After all five projects are put into operation, they will benefit over 20 communities in Dongcheng, Haidian, and Mentougou, more than 10,000 households, providing over 800 additional parking spaces for motor vehicles, easing the problem of citizens struggling to find parking spaces.
