Wang Yi stated that since the beginning of this year, China-Canada relations have continued to develop positively, with increasingly close exchanges at all levels and fruitful cooperation in various fields. In the first half of the year, bilateral trade volume increased by 16% year-on-year, especially with Canadian exports to China growing by 23.3%. Canola seeds, beef, and other agricultural products have returned to the Chinese market, while Chinese electric vehicles have entered the Canadian market, providing more quality choices for the people of both countries. The facts prove that the improvement and development of China-Canada relations are in line with the common interests of both countries, welcomed by the people of both countries, and the correct choice in history. China is willing to work with Canada to implement important consensuses reached by the leaders of the two countries, prepare for high-level exchanges in the next stage, enhance mutual political trust, expand exchanges and cooperation, strengthen collaboration in global governance, artificial intelligence, and other multilateral affairs, properly address differences and sensitive issues, continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Canada new type of strategic partnership, and inject more certainty into the turbulent world. Anand stated that the relationship with China is one of Canada's most important bilateral relationships. The current development and improvement of Canada-China relations have a good and strong momentum. The two sides actively implemented the consensus reached during the meeting between the leaders of the two countries during Prime Minister Trudeau's visit to China in January this year, with increasingly warm exchanges at all levels and deepening economic and trade cooperation, especially with growth in Canadian exports to China, and continuous new achievements in building a new type of strategic partnership. Canada firmly adheres to the One China policy and is willing to further strengthen high-level exchanges with China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, trade, finance, drug control, and other fields, promote people-to-people exchange, enhance multilateral coordination, eliminate differences through dialogue, and promote the long-term healthy and stable development of Canada-China relations. The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
