Kuwait begins to increase oil production, with daily output expected to reach 2 million barrels soon.
With the temporary peace agreement between the US and Iran resulting in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Kuwait has begun to increase its oil production and plans to restore daily production to 2 million barrels within a week. Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, stated in an interview that significant progress has been made in repairing the damaged energy infrastructure, allowing Kuwait to restore oil production to pre-war levels faster than previously expected. During the war, oil fields were attacked and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz cut off key export routes, causing Kuwait's oil production to drop to 500,000 barrels per day. The CEO announced that all force majeure notices issued during the war will be "immediately canceled."
