Intel's stock price surged on Thursday after US President Donald Trump said that the chip manufacturer will be partnering with Apple to design and produce chips in the United States. Trump mentioned Nvidia and Elon Musk's Terafab chip manufacturing ambitions in a post on Truth Social, and hinted at the collaboration, but did not provide further details. Apple had previously held exploratory discussions about using Intel and Samsung Electronics to manufacture its main processors in the US. Trump wrote, "I have decided to help Intel because we need to design and manufacture our chips in the US. Apple has agreed to partner with Intel to design and manufacture its chips in the US." After the opening of the New York market, Intel's stock price surged by 12% to a record high of $135.13. Apple's stock price also rose by 1.5%. Intel declined to comment, while Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
