Institution: Yangtze Storage is expected to rise to third place in the global market with storage demand.
Research company Counterpoint stated that Chinese storage chip manufacturer YMTC is poised to benefit from the construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure. The artificial intelligence boom is driving record demand for YMTC's specialized Nand flash memory, leading to a 3.5-fold increase in market size to $46 billion in the first quarter. Counterpoint reported that in the first quarter, YMTC's revenue increased by 445% year-on-year as it profited from strong domestic demand and supply shortages, resulting in a 13% market share globally. Researcher MS Hwang believes that the investment will provide the necessary firepower for YMTC to surpass competitors Kioxia and Micron Technology, and establish its position as the third largest Nand supplier in the world.
