Colombian electoral body responds to Petro's doubts, denies existence of anomalies in presidential election process.
On June 2nd local time, the National Civil Registry of Colombia issued a statement in response to President Petro's questioning regarding the electoral roll, voting data, and the counting system in the presidential elections. The Registry stated that the final electoral roll for the 2026 presidential election was officially determined on April 30th, with over 41.42 million eligible voters, and there was no issue of the electoral roll being closed early. Regarding the high number of voters at some polling stations, the Registry stated that there are differences in the standards for setting up different polling stations, and the related data falls within the normal range. In response to the allegations of the counting system being tampered with, the Registry denied it, stating that the time logs only reflect the time when the data was made available to audit personnel from various political parties, and do not constitute evidence of software being altered.
