The Chinese delegation has completed the task of attending the fourth study group meeting of the Radio Communications Department of the International Telecommunication Union.
According to the Radio Management Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from April 22 to May 15, 2026, the meetings of the Fourth Study Group of the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union and its working groups WP4A, WP4B, and WP4C were held in Geneva, Switzerland. This meeting focused on topics for the 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference, such as satellite internet, satellite Internet of Things, satellite radio navigation services, and direct satellite connections for cell phones. Discussions also covered hot topics such as space sustainability and equivalent power flux density limits, resulting in the production of many work documents, letters, and other outcome documents. The meeting reviewed and approved two draft revisions, one new report draft, and one new proposal draft. Several submissions from China were adopted by the meeting and included in relevant work documents or ITU-R recommendation drafts currently being revised. Multiple experts from the Chinese delegation served as chairs of study groups, working groups, and drafting groups, actively participating in the revision of international rules and contributing Chinese wisdom to global satellite communication governance.
