Production soon to be halted, Yichun Lithium Mine certificate replacement controversy resurfaces.
As the anticipated shutdown approaches, there have been new changes in the licensing process of Yichun lithium mine in Jiangxi. According to the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Natural Resources, after the materials such as the evaluation report of the mining rights of four porcelain clay mines in Yichun were made public on April 7, objections were raised during the public notice period by Da Gang Porcelain Clay Mine in Huaqiao Township, Yifeng County, and Tong'an Porcelain Mine in Tong'an Township, Yifeng County. The evaluation reports of the other two mines have already taken effect. So far, the evaluation agency has issued two response letters rejecting the objections of the two enterprises and maintaining the original evaluation results. The public notice period for the verification of the objections will continue until May 12. Previously, the market generally expected that the four mines would complete the payment of mining rights after the report takes effect, and enter the temporary shutdown and reissuing phase in May this year. Will this change due to the objections raised by the two mining companies? "It is highly unlikely that these objections will change the expectation of a shutdown in May, but it will definitely affect the timeline for resuming production," a local industry insider in Yichun told reporters. The reissuing process needs to wait for a final ruling and the effectiveness of the evaluation report before it can proceed. If the companies still do not agree, they may continue to appeal or go to court, which could further lengthen the shutdown period.
