Matthew Vegari, Director of Investment Platform Research at Clearwater Analytics, stated in his report that the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged at 3.50%-3.75% indicates that they will continue their "wait and see" strategy. A key conclusion drawn from this meeting is that the Federal Reserve is not willing to overlook energy-driven inflation in the same way they did with inflation triggered by tariffs in the past. He also pointed out that the White House's plan to pressure the Federal Reserve to cut rates has backfired, as Powell will temporarily continue to hold his position as a director. "If the Federal Reserve decides to cut rates in a situation of accelerating inflation, it will be due to clear weakness in the labor market rather than political pressure."
