Ministry of Ecology and Environment: It is proposed to ban the production of multi-split air conditioner units using HCFC-22 as a refrigerant from 2027.

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued a public announcement on the prohibition of the production of multi-split air conditioning units using dichlorodifluoromethane as a refrigerant. According to the relevant regulations of the "Regulations on the Management of Ozone-Depleting Substances" and the requirements of the "National Plan of China for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer", the multi-split air conditioning unit industry will be completely banned from using dichlorodifluoromethane as a refrigerant. From January 1, 2027, the production of multi-split air conditioning units using HCFC-22 as a refrigerant will be prohibited.
