Poyang Lake water level breaks 13 meters for the first time this year, with a total area of 1900 square kilometers of water.
Due to recent concentrated rainfall and increased water inflows from the upper reaches, in recent days, China's largest freshwater lake Poyang Lake has shown a continuous rising trend in water levels. As of 8:00 on April 6, the water level at the iconic hydrological station of Poyang Lake, Xingzi Station, has risen to 13.19 meters, an increase of 0.28 meters from yesterday, breaking through 13 meters for the first time this year. The water level at Hukou Station has risen to 12.91 meters, an increase of 0.29 meters from yesterday. Since the beginning of this year, the water level of Poyang Lake has shown a steady upward trend, further expanding the water area. Currently, the area of the flood discharge area of Poyang Lake is 1,900 square kilometers, 530 square kilometers larger than the same period last year, with a volume of 43.7 billion cubic meters, 3.36 billion cubic meters more than the same period last year.
