Nigerian military rescues 31 hostages

The Nigerian military said on the 5th that they rescued 31 hostages who were kidnapped by armed individuals in a village in Kaduna State in northwest Nigeria. Agence France-Presse quoted a statement from the Nigerian military reporting that the military "thwarted a terrorist attack and rescued 31 civilians who were attending Easter service at a church in Aliko village in Kaduna State." However, 5 other people were killed by the armed individuals.
