Heavy rains in Angola have already caused the deaths of 29 people.
The Civil Protection and Fire Department of Angola said on the 5th that the heavy rains in the provinces of Luanda and Benguela in the country in the past two days have resulted in 29 deaths, 17 injuries, and 3 people missing. The department announced on social media that the severe weather has directly affected about 34,000 people, involving over 6,800 families. The heavy rains have caused a large number of houses to be flooded or collapse in the two provinces, with damage to public infrastructure, and some medical centers and schools have also been flooded. Assessment of the disaster and rescue efforts are ongoing.
