The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau recently revealed that the power supply scheme for Kubuqi to supply electricity to Shanghai and the Kubuqi to supply electricity to the Shago base in Jiangsu has been approved by the National Energy Administration. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the construction of supporting coal-fired power plants will officially commence. The main layout of the base is in the Kubuqi Desert area of Ordos City, with the Kubuqi to Shanghai power supply base planning to build 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power and 4.5 million kilowatts of wind power, supported by 2.64 million kilowatts of coal-fired power and 9 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage, with a total investment of approximately 63.2 billion yuan; the Kubuqi to Jiangsu power supply base plans to build 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power and 4 million kilowatts of wind power, supported by 2.64 million kilowatts of coal-fired power and 8.16 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage, with a total investment of approximately 64.2 billion yuan.
