A fire accident occurred in Donghai County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, resulting in the death of 8 people.

On February 15, 2026, at around 14:30, due to improper personal fireworks set off by villagers in Dong'an Village, Pomegranate Street, Donghai County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, a nearby fireworks and firecrackers shop burst into flames. Emergency, firefighting, public security, health and other departments rushed to the scene for rescue and disposal. By around 16:00, the fire was extinguished, resulting in 8 deaths and 2 people lightly burned. Currently, the relevant responsible persons have been controlled, and specific investigations, follow-up measures, and other work are ongoing.
