In 2026, it is estimated that 594 high-speed trains will be operated during the pre-holiday Spring Festival travel rush. Shenzhen Railway will increase its capacity to help passengers return to their hometowns.
As the footsteps of the Spring Festival draw closer, the waiting room of Shenzhen North Station is brightly lit in the early hours of February 9th. At 00:01, train D9712 departed from Shenzhen North Station on time, heading east towards Chaoshan. At 00:05, train G9742 followed suit, passing through the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link and Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway, heading north towards Shaoguan, marking the full operation of night high-speed trains on the Shenzhen railway during this year's Spring Festival travel rush. With this year's Spring Festival holiday extended to 9 days, the desire for passengers to reunite with family and travel is even stronger. In order to meet the travel needs of the passengers, Shenzhen Railway has taken measures such as adding night high-speed trains and increasing the coupling of multiple units, based on ticket pre-sales and 12306 standby orders, to maximize passenger capacity and ensure smooth travel for passengers.
