On February 5, 2026, General Motors Corporation of the United States filed an application with the United States International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, alleging that certain vehicle parts, components, and vehicles containing the same that are exported to the United States, imported into the United States, or sold in the United States have infringed upon its patent rights. The company requested an investigation under Section 337 and the issuance of general exclusion orders, limited exclusion orders, and cease and desist orders. Twenty companies from the United States, China, and other countries are involved in the case (Ministry of Commerce).
