According to a report from Russian news agency on February 2nd, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Yerzhan Ashykbayev, stated in an interview with the media that more than 10 countries and organizations have submitted applications to join the SCO. The report stated that Ashykbayev also mentioned the topic of increasing the number of SCO members during the interview. "We believe that this reflects the achievements of the SCO in the past, and also demonstrates its increasing international prestige and the continued strengthening of the attractiveness of the principles it advocates," he said.
