This round of layoffs is part of the business restructuring and transformation plan implemented by the company since April last year. On April 29, 2025, UPS announced its plan to reduce costs and increase profitability through large-scale layoffs and closing of operational facilities. By the end of 2025, the company had laid off a total of 48,000 positions and closed 93 business locations.
