Discoveries, breakthroughs, and achievements are the three "major" aspects of national agricultural science and technology in 2025.

The State Council Information Office held a press conference. At the conference, relevant officials introduced that by 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will focus on improving the overall efficiency of the agricultural science and technology innovation system, strengthening the national strategic strength of agricultural science and technology, enhancing the position of agricultural enterprises in science and technology innovation, promoting organized research and development and application of achievements, and increasing the contribution rate of national agricultural science and technology advancement to over 64%. Firstly, major discoveries were made in basic research. The mystery of transforming individual cells into complete plants was successfully revealed, providing a new theoretical support for crop genetic improvement and efficient regeneration. The world's first heat-tolerant gene in rice was cloned, providing a new solution for rice to achieve stable production and quality in high-temperature environments. Secondly, significant breakthroughs were made in frontier research. Original breakthroughs were achieved in agricultural biomanufacturing, "artificial intelligence + agriculture" was rapidly deployed, and the intelligent agriculture large model was continuously iterated and applied. Thirdly, significant achievements were made in industrial technology. The new wheat variety "Yangmai 53" was cultivated, opening up a path to successfully solve the difficult problems of resistance to Fusarium head blight, high yield, and quality improvement. Breakthroughs were made in the research and development of new energy agricultural machinery and put into use, effectively alleviating the problem of "no machinery available" in some areas of hilly and mountainous regions, accelerating the research and development and application of agricultural robots.
