The two-year US treasury bond yield dropped by more than one basis point, plunging significantly when US CPI data was released.
On Tuesday's closing in New York, the yield on the US 10-year Treasury bond fell by 0.78 basis points to 4.1674%. At 21:30 Beijing time, when the US CPI was released, the yield dropped from around 4.19% to 4.1477%, hitting a daily low. The yield on the 2-year US Treasury bond fell by 1.23 basis points to 3.5220%; the yield on the 30-year US Treasury bond remained unchanged at 4.8273%. The spread between the 2-year and 10-year US Treasury bond yields increased by 0.447 basis points to +64.326 basis points. When the CPI data was released, it dropped to +61.816 basis points, hitting a daily low, and then quickly rebounded to +65.727 basis points, hitting a daily high. The yield on the 10-year inflation-protected Treasury bond fell by 1.583 basis points to 1.8399%; the yield on the 2-year TIPS fell by 0.09 basis points to 1.0151%; the yield on the 30-year TIPS fell by 0.51 basis points to 2.5801%.
