Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges announce the market closure schedule for select holidays in 2026.
On December 22, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange issued a notice regarding the holiday trading schedule for 2026, in accordance with the China Securities Regulatory Commission's "Notice on the Holiday Schedule and Market Closing Arrangements for 2026". The specifics of the holiday trading schedule for 2026 are as follows:
New Year's Day: Closed from January 1st to January 3rd, normal trading resumes on January 5th. Additionally, January 4th is a weekend holiday.
Chinese New Year: Closed from February 15th to February 23rd, normal trading resumes on February 24th. Additionally, February 14th and February 28th are weekend holidays.
Qingming Festival: Closed from April 4th to April 6th, normal trading resumes on April 7th.
Labor Day: Closed from May 1st to May 5th, normal trading resumes on May 6th. Additionally, May 9th is a weekend holiday.
Dragon Boat Festival: Closed from June 19th to June 21st, normal trading resumes on June 22nd.
Mid-Autumn Festival: Closed from September 25th to September 27th, normal trading resumes on September 28th.
National Day: Closed from October 1st to October 7th, normal trading resumes on October 8th. Additionally, September 20th and October 10th are weekend holidays.
