AI servers and general servers are jointly driving a new cycle of supermemory, under this background, the DRAM capacity of consumer electronics has been continuously squeezed. According to the forecast data shared by TrendForce, from 2024 to 2026, the proportion of AI and server-related applications to DRAM capacity will reach 46%, 56%, and 66% respectively. In addition to the surge in demand for HBM, the demand for server DRAM is also increasing, as is Graphics DRAM, such as products like NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 which also consume a large amount of capacity. Furthermore, the widespread adoption of LPDDR solutions by AI platforms further squeezes the supply of consumer products. This trend has become irreversible, and by 2027, the combined proportion in the above-mentioned areas will exceed 70%. In addition to the squeeze on the DRAM capacity of consumer electronics by AI, Wu Yating, Senior Research Vice President of TrendForce, also predicts that the increase in LPDDR5 in 2026 will be very significant, also because AI customers will compete for capacity at high prices.
