From November 9th to 10th, 2025, the International Bank of Settlements held a meeting of bank governors in Basel, Switzerland. Zhang Changneng, Vice President of the People's Bank of China, attended the meeting. Bank governors discussed topics such as the global economic and financial situation, improving global cross-border payments, the impact of non-bank financial institutions on monetary policy, and the impact of aging populations on financial stability. From November 11th to 12th, Zhang Changneng visited the UK Treasury, the Bank of England, the UK Prudential Regulatory Authority, and the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Both sides exchanged views on issues such as Sino-UK currency and financial cooperation, financial stability, and regulation, expressing their willingness to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in the financial sector between China and the UK.
