Director Guo Huanxin of the Measurement Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation: 13 national standards for product carbon footprints have been released.
Guo Huanxin, Director of the Department of Measures of the State Administration for Market Regulation, stated at the State Council's regular policy briefing on the 31st that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the State Administration for Market Regulation will strengthen the formulation and implementation of standards for trade facilitation, and fully leverage the technical support role of standards in promoting high-quality economic and social development. In terms of strengthening the construction of the national standard system, in 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation will jointly release China's first carbon peak and carbon neutrality standard system with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and other departments, providing top-level guidance for the revision of green and low-carbon standards in various fields. For example, in terms of carbon emission management, 49 key industry national standards for greenhouse gas emission accounting have been published, covering industries with large carbon emissions intensity such as steel, non-ferrous metals, and electricity, addressing the issue of "how to calculate and calculate accurately." For products with large trade volume and wide influence such as plastics, electrolytic aluminum, and furniture, 13 national standards for product carbon footprints have been issued to provide technical support for the management system of product carbon footprints in China.
