The national metrological technical specification JJF 23852026, "Acoustic Performance Testing Specification for Smart Glasses" (hereinafter referred to as the "Specification"), issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, will officially take effect on October 2, establishing a unified technical yardstick for the acoustic performance testing of smart glasses, safeguarding consumer rights through metrology-based law-compliant regulation, and supporting the high-quality development of the emerging consumer goods industry. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, smart glasses have been widely used in daily life and office scenarios, becoming an important carrier for human-computer interaction. They connect to mobile phones via Bluetooth to enable core functions such as calls, audio playback, and voice interaction, and their acoustic performance directly affects users' experience and hearing health. For a long time, China has lacked a unified acoustic performance testing method, resulting in different testing approaches among manufacturers, making it difficult to compare product parameters across the board. Some products have even had falsely labeled parameters and one-sided stacking of hardware specifications, seriously disrupting market order, causing confusion for consumers when making purchases, and constraining the high-quality development of the industry. The Specification directly addresses industry pain points and responds to public consumer concerns, building a complete testing system for the acoustic performance of smart glasses. It establishes standardized testing procedures around two major modules"sound pickup" and "sound playback"and focuses on defining three key evaluation dimensions: first, frequency response indicators for sound pickup and playback, ensuring the fidelity of recording and playback sound and aligning with the real auditory perception of the human ear; second, the directional performance of microphone sound pickup, assessing the device's ability to capture the wearer's voice and other sounds coming from different directions while distinguishing environmental background noise; third, playback sound leakage testing, preventing sound leakage and protecting users' call and listening privacy. Relevant tests must be conducted in an anechoic chamber, with the aid of professional high-precision metrological equipment such as head and torso simulators, measurement microphones, and acoustic analyzers, to minimize interference from environmental reflected sound and ensure objective and reliable test data. The implementation of the Specification provides a unified metrological basis for product R&D optimization and factory inspection of smart glasses, guiding enterprises to improve acoustic design based on real wearing experience, reducing parameter involution, and also providing technical and institutional support for metrological regulation. It effectively curbs the chaos of falsely labeled parameters, forces product quality improvement, and protects consumers' hearing health and call privacy security. Next, the State Administration for Market Regulation will carry out the publicity and implementation of the Specification and promote its effective rollout. At the same time, it will continue to closely monitor pain points and bottlenecks in emerging consumer goods sectors such as smart wearables, accelerate the improvement of the supply of metrological technical specifications, empower industrial quality improvement and upgrading with precise metrology, create a safe and reassuring consumption environment, and continuously enhance the public's sense of gain, happiness, and security in consumption.
