Looking ahead, the Hong Kong economy is expected to continue its steady growth in the second half of 2026. The strong global demand for artificial intelligence-related products is likely to support merchandise exports, while service output is expected to benefit from the continued increase in visitors to Hong Kong and stable demand for financial and business services. Supported by stable labor market conditions and a resilient business and consumer atmosphere, domestic demand is anticipated to remain strong. However, ongoing external adverse factors, particularly geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, uncertainties in U.S. monetary policy, and trade protectionism measures in major advanced economies, will require close monitoring.
