In October, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 857.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.4% year-on-year. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 12 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 13.2% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 568.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.2% year-on-year, of which industrial electricity consumption increased by 6.4% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 160.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 17.1% year-on-year.
On November 21st, the National Energy Administration released data on the total electricity consumption in October. In October, the total electricity consumption in the whole society was 857.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.4% compared to the same period last year. Looking at different industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 12 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 13.2%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 568.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.2%, with industrial electricity consumption increasing by 6.4%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 160.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 17.1%, with the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services, as well as information transmission, software, and information technology services growing rapidly; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' living was 115.5 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 23.9%.
From January to October, the total electricity consumption in the whole society accumulated to 862.46 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.1% compared to the same period last year, with the electricity generation of industrial enterprises above designated size at 806.25 billion kilowatt-hours. Looking at different industries, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 126.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.5%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 547.81 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 3.7%, with industrial electricity consumption increasing by 3.9%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 166.71 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.4%, with the electricity consumption of charging and swapping services, as well as information transmission, software, and information technology services growing rapidly; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' living was 135.32 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.9%.
