National Bureau of Statistics: In October, the added value of large-scale industries increased by 4.9% year-on-year.
In October, the year-on-year growth rate of the value added of large-scale industries increased by 4.9% in real terms.
Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in October, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 4.9% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors). On a month-on-month basis, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 0.17% compared to the previous month. From January to October, the value added of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 6.1% year-on-year.
Looking at three major categories, in October, the value added of the mining industry increased by 4.5% year-on-year, manufacturing increased by 4.9%, and electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply increased by 5.4%.
In terms of economic type, in October, the value added of state-controlled enterprises increased by 6.7% year-on-year; that of shareholding enterprises increased by 5.2%, foreign-funded enterprises including those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan increased by 4.0%; and private enterprises increased by 2.1%.
By industry, in October, out of 41 major categories, 29 industries showed a year-on-year increase in value added. Among them, coal mining and washing industry increased by 6.5%, petroleum and natural gas extraction increased by 1.9%, agricultural and sideline food processing industry increased by 2.5%, alcohol, beverages, and refined tea manufacturing decreased by 1.9%, textile industry increased by 0.2%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing increased by 7.1%, non-metallic mineral products industry decreased by 3.2%, black metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 1.4%, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry increased by 3.7%, general equipment manufacturing increased by 6.9%, special equipment manufacturing increased by 0.7%, automobile manufacturing increased by 16.8%, railway, shipbuilding, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing increased by 15.2%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing increased by 4.9%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing increased by 8.9%, and electricity, heat production and supply industry increased by 5.9%.
In terms of products, in October, out of 623 products in industrial enterprises above designated size, 313 products showed a year-on-year increase in production. Among them, steel output was 118.64 million tons, a decrease of 0.9% year-on-year; cement output was 147.75 million tons, a decrease of 15.8%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals were 6.95 million tons, an increase of 2.9%; ethylene was 3.14 million tons, an increase of 11.7%; automobiles were 3.279 million units, an increase of 11.2%, with new energy vehicles at 1.71 million units, an increase of 19.3%; electricity generation was 800.2 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.9%; crude oil processing was 63.43 million tons, an increase of 6.4%.
In October, the sales rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 96.4%, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0 percentage points; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above designated size was 1.325 trillion yuan, a nominal year-on-year decrease of 2.1%.
