Return to third place globally! Lenovo (00992) tablet shipments surged 23% year-on-year, accelerating the advancement of AI terminal technology.
Lenovo's tablet market share has returned to the third place in the world.
On November 7, 2025, the global market research firm Omdia released its report on the global tablet market for the third quarter of 2025, showing that global tablet shipments have achieved growth for the seventh consecutive quarter, increasing by 5% year-on-year to 40 million units. Among them, Lenovo tablets performed particularly well, leading the industry with a 23% year-on-year increase in shipments, surpassing Huawei to regain the third position in the global tablet market (with a market share of 9.1%), becoming the brand with the highest growth rate among the top five tablet manufacturers globally. At the same time, it also led in the Chromebook sub-market with a 54.6% year-on-year growth rate. The data in the two areas confirms its strong competitiveness in the tablet field, highlighting the significant effects of its terminal advancement strategy empowered by AI technology.
In the context of the global tablet market being still affected by macroeconomic factors and the growth of leading manufacturers trending towards stagnation (Apple with a 0.4% year-on-year growth, Samsung with 0.1% year-on-year growth), Lenovo tablets have achieved a breakthrough with precise regional layout and scenario-based deep cultivation.
According to Omdia data, in the third quarter of 2025, the global tablet market saw a 5.1% year-on-year growth, mainly due to seasonal stocking before overseas holidays, as well as strong performances driven by holidays and Singles' Day promotions in the Asia-Pacific and China regions. Lenovo led among major manufacturers with shipments reaching 3.7 million units, mainly due to the expansion of its commercial tablet business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
Furthermore, the high growth of Lenovo tablets is inseparable from the comprehensive empowerment of terminal products by AI technology. Lenovo actively responds to the global AI trend, promoting the transformation of tablets into "AI terminals" through partnerships with NVIDIA, Intel, and other partners.
This factor has also been fully validated in the PC business. According to previous IDC data, in the third quarter of 2025, Lenovo's PC market share reached as high as 25.5%, with a significant year-on-year growth rate of 17.3%, surpassing the market average (9.4%) and all major competitors. This high growth rate demonstrates that Lenovo is actively and effectively capturing market share from competitors through its advanced layout in AI PCs, rather than just benefiting from the natural recovery of the market.
It is easy to see from the current market trend that the demand for AI at the endpoint is being taken seriously by tech giants. Global AI giants like NVIDIA, OpenAI, and Microsoft have reached a consensus on the huge potential of endpoint AI: the need to push the competition of computing power to terminal devices, bringing AI from the "cloud factory" to the physical world, and in the field of AI terminals, PCs have the largest scale.
This means that there will be an explosive trend in the demand for terminal devices with powerful AI computing power in the future. In this new battleground of endpoint AI, Lenovo is forming a leading advantage with its "hybrid AI" strategy and the world's largest shipment scale.
