This year, the Hong Kong Housing Authority has adopted the theme of "Building Together, Smartly," and through a series of activities, it aims to promote exchanges and development in the areas of smart construction, smart village management, and energy-efficient green construction between Hong Kong and various regions. It encourages Portuguese companies to seize opportunities and strengthen cooperation with mainland China and Hong Kong.
GMTEightPAP learned that the Director of Housing of Hong Kong, Mr. Wai-Kwok Ho, continued his visit to Lisbon, Portugal yesterday. Mr. Ho pointed out that the Hong Kong SAR government has been actively promoting the use of innovative construction technology to speed up, increase quantity, improve quality, and enhance efficiency in increasing the supply of affordable housing. This year, the Hong Kong Housing Department has adopted the theme "Building Together, Building Smart", and through a series of activities, it promotes the exchange and development of smart construction, intelligent public housing estate management, energy-efficient green construction, and other fields between Hong Kong and various regions. He encourages Portuguese companies to seize opportunities and strengthen cooperation with Mainland China and Hong Kong. Mr. Ho also specifically thanked industry representatives from Hong Kong for attending the luncheon in Lisbon, including industry friends involved in the construction of public housing, "simple public housing", and transitional housing. They took the opportunity to personally share with the guests Hong Kong's advantages in enjoying the opportunities of "connecting internally and externally", connecting international standards, making good use of Hong Kong regulations, and leveraging the "smart manufacturing" of the Greater Bay Area to further develop various aspects, such as Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), Industrialized Construction, and the use of construction robots. Through the rapid construction of "simple public housing" and transitional housing, the living environment for citizens living in inadequate housing conditions can be improved as soon as possible. At the same time, the massive construction target of 308,000 public housing units in the next decade has become a good opportunity for the Hong Kong Housing Department and the Hong Kong Housing Authority to promote the landing of innovative technologies, leading the development of public housing into a new era of smart construction. Mr. Ho pointed out that the Hong Kong Housing Authority has always been committed to promoting more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient designs. All new projects aim to achieve a "gold" level or higher rating in the "green building environmental assessment". Measures include the use of MiC in the construction process to produce components more accurately and efficiently in factories, using innovative technologies such as BIM to assist in construction planning and optimize management, thereby saving energy and reducing waste, making the projects more environmentally friendly. To improve energy efficiency, the Housing Authority has also implemented various green measures, such as smart lighting control systems, LED lighting, and the CECEP Solar Energy photovoltaic system. In terms of estate management, the use of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence to collect and analyze different data has also improved the quality and efficiency of estate management. She hopes that in the future, the two places will continue to have close exchanges on innovative housing technology and green building design.
