Autonomous driving technology company WeRide (WRD.US) announced the first fully unmanned commercial deployment of its Robobus in Europe.
Autonomous driving technology company WeRide (WRD.US) announced its first fully driverless commercial deployment of Robobus in Europe. The deployment is part of a partnership with beti, Renault Group, and Macif's shuttle service, which will provide level 4 automated mobility services in the Drme region of France.
For the autonomous driving travel service, WeRide will provide its L4 level autonomous driving technology for passenger Carriage Services Inc. in open road mixed traffic environments. Several 6-meter-long driverless buses will be put into operation, each able to carry 8 passengers. Beti Automated Mobility will start operations on March 10 at Rovaltain business park - Valence TGV station in the Drme department. The route is 3.3 kilometers long, serving the train station, off-site long-term parking, dining center in the business park, and 150 companies with 3,000 employees.
The initial testing phase of this autonomous driving service will run from March 10 to April 19, operating from Monday to Friday in a real passenger transport environment.
