On February 28, a logistics drone carrying goods took off from the Chengdu International Railway Port Comprehensive Protection Zone, and landed precisely at the Chengdu Xindu Zhongtong Sorting Center 18 kilometers away in just 20 minutes. It was then transferred to the final delivery station by an unmanned vehicle, achieving instant delivery of "air-land integration".
It is reported that this is the first cross-border bonded "drone + unmanned vehicle" instant delivery line in Chengdu, achieving seamless connection of bonded goods from the "cloud" to the "ground". ZTO Express (Cayman), Inc. Sponsored ADR Class A has collaborated with the Xindu District of Chengdu to explore the "last mile" of urban logistics with the "air-land integration" model.
"From placing my order to receiving it, the entire process took less than 90 minutes, it was so convenient!" exclaimed citizen Liu Ting. In the past, cross-border goods delivery required detours on highways, which not only increased the distance but also often led to delays due to restrictions and congestion. Now, with the "cloud delivery + air-land linkage" method, these problems have been completely eliminated. The manager of the ZTO Express (Cayman), Inc. Sponsored ADR Class A Xindu branch, Li Li, stated that this model has broken through the geographical limitations of municipal roads, significantly reducing costs and improving delivery efficiency. "We have estimated that with this model, the overall cost savings have reached 40%, and delivery efficiency has been shortened by 35%. In March, we can achieve an average of 200 orders per day using this model."
"The 'cloud delivery + air-land linkage' saves time and effort." said a responsible person from the Chengdu International Railway Port, stating that with this innovative "low-altitude logistics+" model, the efficiency of goods shipment from the bonded area, the sorting and operation efficiency of the express delivery companies have all been significantly improved. The drones used for the delivery line now allow consumers to order imported goods through cross-border e-commerce platforms and have them delivered in the afternoon after ordering in the morning, providing a "buy-now-get-now" experience that makes consumers very satisfied.
