On January 17, according to the Ministry of Commerce, in 2024, a total of 59,080 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year; the actual use of foreign capital amounted to 826.25 billion yuan, a decrease of 27.1% year-on-year. In terms of industries, the actual use of foreign capital in manufacturing amounted to 221.21 billion yuan, while the service industry received 584.56 billion yuan of actual foreign investment. The high-tech manufacturing industry received 96.29 billion yuan of actual foreign investment, accounting for 11.7% of the total actual foreign investment in the country. The actual foreign investment in the medical equipment and instrument manufacturing industry, professional technical services, and computer and office equipment manufacturing industry increased by 98.7%, 40.8%, and 21.9% respectively. In terms of source countries, actual investments from Spain, Singapore, Germany, and Switzerland in China increased by 130.8%, 10.8%, 2.2%, and 1% (including investment data through free trade zones).
