MEITU(01357) announced that a board meeting was held on January 16, 2025, proposing to declare and pay a special dividend of HK$0.109 per share in cash from the share premium account, subject to certain conditions being met.
The board reiterated that the group's core business, the "Image and Design Products Business," is growing rapidly and is a light asset business. The group will continue to invest in artificial intelligence technology, with a strong focus on enhancing user experience and subscription penetration. As a result, the business growth will also reflect the efficiency of the group's capital investment. In addition to this special dividend, the board expects to maintain the company's current dividend policy, which is to recommend an annual dividend based on a percentage of the group's annual adjusted net profit attributable to the equity holders of the company, which has shown significant growth in recent years.
The company will convene a special shareholder meeting on February 11, 2025, to consider and (if deemed appropriate) approve the declaration and payment of the special dividend.
Subject to the satisfaction of the conditions precedent, the special dividend is expected to be paid in cash around February 27, 2025, to shareholders on the register of members of the company at the close of business on February 19, 2025.
