The Silicon Chamber released its weekly report on monocrystalline silicon wafers on January 16. This week, the price of silicon wafers remained stable, with the average transaction price for N-type G10L monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*183.75mm/130m/256mm) staying at 1.18 yuan per piece; N-type G12R monocrystalline silicon wafers (182*210mm/130m) staying at 1.3 yuan per piece; N-type G12 monocrystalline silicon wafers (210*210mm/150m) staying at 1.55 yuan per piece. The highest price for G10L series wafers adjusted slightly this week, but due to low trading volume, it did not affect the average price. In addition, silicon wafer companies proposed a new round of pricing this week, with only a few specifications seeing some trading. The main reason for the stable price of silicon wafers this week is the strong expectation of downstream production cuts, making it difficult for silicon wafers to increase in price. On the supply side, integrated enterprises maintained relatively high operating rates this week, mainly because the current profit level is attractive enough for integrated enterprises to produce their own silicon wafers. The supply of G10L series wafers is relatively scarce compared to the other two sizes, making it the size most easily accepted by the downstream industry for each price adjustment. According to statistics, the operating rates of two first-tier enterprises this week were maintained at 60% and 55%, while the operating rates of integrated enterprises were between 60% and 80%, and the remaining enterprises had operating rates between 40% and 80%. In addition, the silicon wafer production in January is still expected to be around 46GW, with little change compared to December. This week, battery and component prices remained stable, with the transaction price for M10 monocrystalline TOPCon battery cells remaining at 0.29 yuan/W; and the price for 182mm TOPCon bifacial glass-glass modules staying at 0.68 yuan/W. This week, there was a strong expectation of production cuts in the battery industry, as the speed of silicon wafer price increases exceeded that of batteries, putting pressure on battery companies; and with the approach of the Chinese New Year, module companies and some battery companies have confirmed holiday arrangements, which will have a significant impact on January's battery and module production. Taking into account these factors, it will be relatively difficult for silicon wafer prices to rise again before the holiday, and some sizes may see bargaining in transactions due to supply and demand relationships.
